Strength
"Latter Day Saint women who recognize that their strength comes from the Lord's Atonement do not give up during difficult and discouraging times."

"We can contemplate how far we have already come in the climb along the pathway to perfection; it is usually much further than we acknowledge, and such reflections restore resolve...
...We can allow for the reality that God is still more concerned with growth than with geography...
This is a gospel of grand expectations, but God's grace is sufficient for each of us if we remember that there are no instant Christians."

An Informal Prayer
"The proper way for a man to pray,"
Said Deacon Lemuel Keyes,
"and the only proper attitude
Is down upon his knees."
"Nay, I should say the way to pray,"
Said Reverend Dr. Wise,
"Is standing straight with outstretched arms
and rapt and upturned eyes."
"Oh, no, no, no," Said Elder Snow;
"Such posture is too proud.
"A man should pray with eyes fast closed
and head contritely bowed."
"It seems to me his hands should be
Austerely clasped in front.
With both thumbs point toward the ground,"
Said Reverend Dr. Hunt.
"Las' year I feel in Hodgkin's well
Head first," said Cyrus Brown,
"With both my heels a-striken' up,
My head a-p'inting down;
An' I made a prayer right then an' there;
Best prayer I ever said;
The prayingest prayer I ever prayed;
a-standin' on my head."

"And he commanded them that there should be no contention one with another, but that they should love forward with one eye, having one faith and one baptism, having their hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another."

Teenage Dreams
It's not enough to have a dream
unless I'm willing to pursue it-
It's not enough to know what's right
unless I'm strong enough to do it-
It's not enough to join the crowd,
to be acknowledged and accepted-
I must be true to my ideals, even if
I'm left out and rejected-
It's not enough to learn the truth
unless I also learn to live it-
It's not enough to reach for love
unless I care enough to give it.

"You are not just ordinary young women. You are choice spirits, many of you having been held back in reserve for almost 6,000 years to come forth in this day, at this time when the temptations, responsibilities, and opportunities are the very greatest...
"...I pray that you--the young and rising generation--will keep your bodies and minds clean, free from the condemnations of the world, that you will be fit and pure vessels to bear off the kingdom of God triumphant in preparation for the second coming of our Savior."
-President Ezra Taft Benson

"As an indication of the importance the Gods gave to women, the Lord said, 'Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh,' Genesis 2:24
Do you note that? She, the woman, occupies the first place. She is preeminent, even above the parents who are so dear to all of us. Even the children must take their proper but significant place."

Moroni 10:4-5
"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

If Jesus Came to Your House
If Jesus came to your house to spend a day or two,
If He came unexpectedly...I wonder what you'd do.
Oh I know you'd give your nicest room to such an honored guest,
And all the food you'd serve Him would be the very best.
And you would keep assuring Him you're glad to have Him there,
That having Him within your home is joy beyond compare.
But when you saw Him coming...would you meet Him at the door,
With arms outstretched to welcome your Heavenly visitor?
Or would you have to change your clothes before you let him in,
Or hide the current magazines and put the Bible where they'd been.
Would you turn off the radio and hope He hadn't heard,
And wish you hadn't uttered that last loud nasty word?
Yes, it would be interesting to see what you would do,
If the Savior came in person to spend some time with you.
Would your family conversation keep up its usual way,
And at the dinner table would you think more as you pray?
Would you watch the shows you always watch and read the books you read,
And let Him know the things on which your mind and spirit feed?
And would you take Him with you where-ever you planned to go,
Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so...
And would you be glad to have him meet your closest friends,
Or would you hope they'd stay away until his visit ends?
Yes, it would be so interesting to know what you would do,
If Jesus come to your home to spend a day or two.

Home Evening
"We advise and urge the inauguration of a Home Evening throughout the Church, at which time fathers and mothers may gather their boys and girls about them and teach them the word of the Lord...This home evening should be devoted to prayer, hymn singing, songs, instrumental music, scripture reading, family topics, and specific instruction on the principles of the gospel, and on the ethical problems of life, as well as the duties and obligations of children to parents, the home, the Church, society, and the nation."

Joy and Glory
"Resurrection and the Final Judgememnt are gateways into eternity whereby God's children enter into one of his many Kingdom's. The joy and glory of which depend upon how they have lived and proven faithful."

I'll Be Your Friend
I'll Be Your Friend
"In every soul there burns a flame that lights our path and helps us get back home again. And should it grow too dim to see, we wonder, lost. We cannot see eternity.
"My hopes and dreams are like a spark. I share them, and they glow more bright within my heart. My sorrows aren't so hard to bear when you are there to listen, understand, and care.
"I know your heart is good and true, so when you stumble, I see the best in you. When I grow tired along the way, you cheer and help me want to strive another day.
"I'll share my light when yours is low. You'll share your light when I can't see the way to go. On every choice so much depends. I'll be your friend. Along our way, I'll be your friend."
-Jan Pinborough

Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven
"Bach gave us God's word, Mozart gave us God's laughter, Beethoven gave us God's fire. God gave us music so we might pray without words."

I'll Always Be With You
"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you."
