If Jesus Came to Your House

If Jesus came to your house to spend a day or two,
If He came unexpectedly...I wonder what you'd do.
Oh I know you'd give your nicest room to such an honored guest,
And all the food you'd serve Him would be the very best.
And you would keep assuring Him you're glad to have Him there,
That having Him within your home is joy beyond compare.
But when you saw Him coming...would you meet Him at the door,
With arms outstretched to welcome your Heavenly visitor?
Or would you have to change your clothes before you let him in,
Or hide the current magazines and put the Bible where they'd been.
Would you turn off the radio and hope He hadn't heard,
And wish you hadn't uttered that last loud nasty word?
Yes, it would be interesting to see what you would do,
If the Savior came in person to spend some time with you.
Would your family conversation keep up its usual way,
And at the dinner table would you think more as you pray?
Would you watch the shows you always watch and read the books you read,
And let Him know the things on which your mind and spirit feed?
And would you take Him with you where-ever you planned to go,
Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so...
And would you be glad to have him meet your closest friends,
Or would you hope they'd stay away until his visit ends?
Yes, it would be so interesting to know what you would do,
If Jesus come to your home to spend a day or two.

Home Evening

"We advise and urge the inauguration of a Home Evening throughout the Church, at which time fathers and mothers may gather their boys and girls about them and teach them the word of the Lord...This home evening should be devoted to prayer, hymn singing, songs, instrumental music, scripture reading, family topics, and specific instruction on the principles of the gospel, and on the ethical problems of life, as well as the duties and obligations of children to parents, the home, the Church, society, and the nation."

Joy and Glory

"Resurrection and the Final Judgememnt are gateways into eternity whereby God's children enter into one of his many Kingdom's. The joy and glory of which depend upon how they have lived and proven faithful."

I'll Be Your Friend

I'll Be Your Friend

"In every soul there burns a flame that lights our path and helps us get back home again. And should it grow too dim to see, we wonder, lost. We cannot see eternity.

"My hopes and dreams are like a spark. I share them, and they glow more bright within my heart. My sorrows aren't so hard to bear when you are there to listen, understand, and care.

"I know your heart is good and true, so when you stumble, I see the best in you. When I grow tired along the way, you cheer and help me want to strive another day.

"I'll share my light when yours is low. You'll share your light when I can't see the way to go. On every choice so much depends. I'll be your friend. Along our way, I'll be your friend."

-Jan Pinborough

Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven

"Bach gave us God's word, Mozart gave us God's laughter, Beethoven gave us God's fire. God gave us music so we might pray without words."

I'll Always Be With You

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you."
— A.A. Miline
